The Words on our Walls

Growing up, we had an old brown plaster plaque on the wall that read,"Christ is the Head of this house, the unseen guest at every meal, the silent listener to every conversation."

These words reminded us that Christ was watching, hearing, participating in our daily lives... even the mundane... This reminder extended beyond the "watchdog" presence as we learned that he was also a friend that would stick closer than a brother, a very present help in time of need, an advocate for us, the power that could make us more than conquerors, because of His love.

I am grateful to my parents for instilling an awareness of His presence in us... they were not without fault, but they never stopped pointing us to the PERFECT ONE... I am challenged to create an environment in our home where our family, friends and guests are reminded that Christ is the head of our home, and that He is ever-present, for our comfort and also holding us to a standard of righteousness for His name's sake.

Words do matter... put words in your environment that will challenge, inspire and encouarge you and yours to do greater, be greater, and rely on the GREATEST!
